Feijoas in Red Wine Syrup
¾ cup sugar
1 ½ cups water
¾ cup red wine
20-30 ripe feijoas, peeled and cut lengthwise
Put sugar, water and wine in a saucepan. Set the pan over low heat and dissolve sugar. Reduce syrup by cooking for a further 15 to 20 minutes.
Place fruit and wine together in a separte pan and bring to the boil. Cook for five minutes and transfer to serving bowl.
Once the syrup has been reduced pour it over the feijoas. Cool and serve with yoghurt.
